I’m Shane
I started Scaled and Crafted when I was 18. It began through a lifelong love of reptiles, nature, and creating by hand. Inspired by the textures, patterns, and beauty found in the natural world, each piece is designed to feel personal, earthy, and a little unconventional.
Alongside running Scaled and Crafted, I’m an Education Assistant and continuing my education to become a teacher. Living with chronic illness has deeply shaped the way I approach creativity, community, and finding beauty in slower, intentional work.

Where do the sheds come from?

All snake sheds used in Scaled and Crafted pieces are naturally and ethically collected from my beloved pet reptiles during their normal shedding process. No animals are ever harmed for materials used in my creations.
Are the bones real?

Some pieces contain real bones ethically sourced from owl pellets. Every piece is cleaned and carefully preserved before being used in artwork or jewelry.
